Known for duplicating sounds, scents, patterns, and textures related to the world around them, Duplicats are one of many Earth-based descendants of the Doppelganger. Not unlike some Avian species, they can perfectly repeat noises and even make their own rudimentary sentences. They are mildly intelligent, curious, and generally friendly in nature.
- Research has found them entranced by music, food, and machinery created by Humans. Many find homes in residential areas amoung rafters, under bridges, storage units, and even broom closets. For those who witness Duplicats, they will find them pleasant company, as soon as the shock of seeing an other-dimensional alienoid wears off. - pictured: the resident Duplicat. are the most common, with saturated hues of skin with excitable patterns and designs. It has a long tail ending in a single optic, large forepaws, and dainty rear feet. Very easy to bond with for those who can witness them, as they produce a natural mirage that prevents them from being witnessed by most Humans.
are a less common subspecies, though similar in features. Longer tails, delicate forelegs and much smaller in stature. Does not posses the same mesmerizing technique to hide from humans, but instead can disappear into pocket dimensions, reappearing in a location of its choosing. Extremely playful, almost annoyingly so. Usually lonesome but can be found following groups of their relatives- easily accepted as part of the social circle. Some solitary 'Cats go out of their way to adopt gangs of their smaller brethren for company.

Ears and faceplate markings come in various shapes, sizes, and designs [see: mask features]. Ears always face forward, and attach to the top slit of the nose. Nostrils are, understandably, often mistaken for eyes.
Masks are used to identify individual 'Cats, so no two will ever look alike, although siblings may share similar hues and patterns. |
Teeth are always of the carnivorous variety. Mouth cavity contains an unusually long, highly dexterous tongue that is stored in their chest cavity. When angry they foam and expel large amounts of iridescent saliva - at this point it is advised to keep at a distance- Smaller 'Cats can still remove sizable chunks of flesh.
